Stolen...the true story of a sex trafficking survivor
Just finished this book and although it was not fun to read about a life that was distressed for many years, it was informational and helpful! The author, Katariina Rosenblatt, writes this story of her past, which was filled abuse and neglect. At age 13 she was lured into human trafficking by an older girl, who of course was working for someone else. Her lack of an attentive family and loving father put her at risk because she so yearned for some sort of love and care. Her family lived for a time in a hotel in Florida and there she was targeted and bribed to come try out some new things, which led to drugs and eventually slavery. The story is written simply and is a fairly quick read.
Katariina now works with law enforcement agencies to eliminate human slavery. Her past experience gives her a powerful voice to other victims and often it is the only reason they will initially listen to her. If you are looking for an example of what can go on in our own country, here's a story for you. And thank God, it's one of redemption!!
